AC-STB Mobile – Pain diary on your mobile phone
AC-STB Mobile runs on mobile phones and provides patients with a simple and ubiqutuous
documentation option. AC-STB Mobile runs on all common mobile phones and is available in German,
English, Turkish, Italian and Spanish. Turkish speaking patient can thus maintain their
documentation in their native language while the analysis can be carried out in German in AC-STB
Doc.
For the installation of AC-STB Mobile software component the user can choose from
transfers via Infrared or Bluetooth, or as a download via the phone's Internet connectivity. The
installation process is trivial and completed in seconds. The patient must enter the given
identification code upon the first start of the program; this step also initiates the
synchronization and provides the patient with the assigned surveys - that's it.
All common mobile phones offer enough storage to retain the pain data of several weeks, thus
allowing patients to determine the desired frequency at which they would like to submit their data
to their doctor. In order for doctors to obtain timely data, it is possible to enforce data
synchronization. Data synchronization requires only a minimal data transfer - often comparable in
cost to a short phone call.
Synchronization
The data stored on the mobile phone can be transmitted using various transmission protocols -
depending on the phone's technical capabilities. All data is cryptographically protected during
transmission and can only be decrypted by the corresponding recipient. A successful synchronization
process is acknowledged to the user with a short message.
