AC-STB Doc – The pain documentation system
AC-STB Doc, the stationary component, can be run on any PC with 1024 MB RAM and 120 MB available
disk space. Windows 2000 Professional is the minimal requirement for the operating system -
Micosoft Excel is a requirement for analysis and visualization of data.

The installation process is trivial: an assistant guides through the process and it has been
shown that AC-STB can be installed by even computer novices.
AC-STB implements an entire suite of the most significant surveys and questionaires in pain
therapy:
- AWB
- Blockade Protocol (with and without timer alerts)
- Chronical Pain (short and long version)
- Diabetes
- Integrated Care
- Catheter Protokol
- Headache (with and without timer alerts)
- Heachache diary
- Headache diary (Baudet version)
- MIDOS
- Migraine
- Morbidity
- Opioid Therapy
- Pain Diary
- Pain Survey
- Titration
With the standardized, intuitive interface a much higher level of data quality can be achieved.
The mobile as well as the stationary components are also customizable according to the individual
medical or clinical situtation at hand.
Among the benefits of electronic pain documentation are:
- Less administrative overhead allows doctors to focus on their patients,
- faster, simpler, cost reducing effects as the pain data aquisition process becomes more
efficient,
- improved quality of data simplifies data exchanges with colleagues,
- direct and concrete improvements for the treatment of pain patients due to the aspects that aid
pain diagnostic and therapy,
- significant acceptance gains among patients for maintaining pain documentation by assigning
them an eletronic device with surveys specific to their needs,
- continuous availability as the input device is easier to carry with than paper and pen - thus
the documentation can occur at the time of pain,
- high levels of assurance as the patients can be reminded to submit data at preset
intervals,
- eliminated potential errors due to data transferral from non-electronic into electronic
form,
- integration in the therapy plan allows due to reminders for application of medical
treatments
